The Solar Guild helps people build. The Farm helps what they build outlive them.
The Farm of Gardens is the configured portfolio direction for people-led public-purpose initiatives that may deserve a life beyond one Objective. An accepted Garden direction is part of the current Farm taxonomy until deliberately rested or pruned; acceptance does not prove operation. A Garden may become a durable tool, service, venture, program, organization, or operating institution capable of preserving capability, learning, assets, and reinvestment beyond one project, employer, steward, or generation.
The Farm may include revenue-generating and for-profit Gardens. Paid specialists and other contributors may earn an excellent living and substantial contribution-linked upside under declared terms without adopting any Solar Guild philosophy; earned prosperity is not extraction. Garden property and residual value are intended to remain institutionally aligned, and any surplus—what remains after operating costs, taxes, and declared participant obligations—is intended for public-purpose reinvestment. Trusted stewards may use and direct Solar Guild resources broadly and responsibly under its principles to drive progress, including where personal life and public-purpose work overlap, but cannot turn authority into ownership or unilateral private awards. The Solar Guild currently treats public-purpose alignment, anti-capture, intergenerational responsibility, and accountable transfer as design requirements for structures it authorizes. That is not proof of a legal lock or permanent continuity, and future stewards retain the right to challenge, adapt, transfer, or responsibly end a mechanism; enforceable transfer and succession remain unresolved.

Why the Farm matters
Active workIndividual projects cannot preserve every result worth keeping. Public-purpose initiatives often disappear when a grant, job, sponsor, platform, or original team ends. Their methods, relationships, infrastructure, learning, and productive capacity can disappear with them.
An Objective should still have a clear completion, renewal, or handoff condition. The Farm is the intended continuation model for work accepted into further stewardship after that point: not an excuse for permanent projects, but a way for a worthy initiative to earn another useful cycle.
Durability is earned through use, maintenance, accountable stewardship, and evidence of benefit. It is not created by calling something a Garden.

From one Objective to a Garden

People-led, with real terms
ProposedPeople-led is an operating requirement, not a mood. The people contributing to, affected by, and intended to benefit from a Garden need legible ways to understand its terms, shape relevant decisions, challenge errors, and leave without losing rights already earned.
- Name the intended beneficiaries and the stewards accountable to them.
- State compensation, volunteer status, attribution, ownership, reuse, privacy, and stopping rights before contribution.
- Declare authority by decision, keep it scoped, and provide review or appeal paths.
- Preserve contribution records and learning without turning them into universal scores of people.
- Publish enough evidence for outsiders to distinguish current operation from aspiration.
Public-purpose stewardship, reinvestment, and anti-capture
Open questionThe standing responsibility is to keep institutional resources aligned with public benefit across generations. Trusted leaders and stewards have a responsible, principle-bound right to use and direct institutional resources broadly in pursuit of progress and public benefit, including where personal life and public-purpose work overlap. This is conditional institutional stewardship: authority creates no personal ownership or private, transferable claim. The present public record does not establish that every asset is legally dedicated or permanently locked.
People may participate as paid specialists, independent professionals, or other transactional contributors without adopting Ergism or any Solar Guild philosophy. Solar Guild work may require conduct consistent with its declared principles; belief cannot be required as a condition of compensation. Earned prosperity is not extraction: under lawful terms declared before the work, contributors may earn an excellent living and substantial contribution-linked upside through wages, fees, contracts, bounties, bonuses, commissions, profit or revenue shares, royalties, and other applicable arrangements.
Revenue and profit may sustain a Garden. Surplus means only the residual after operating costs, taxes, and declared participant obligations; any such surplus and accumulated institutional value are intended to remain aligned with public purpose. Institutional stewards may sell, license, or reorganize assets for Solar Guild benefit only on declared terms consistent with that purpose. Extraction means privatizing institutional property, corpus, or residual value; taking economic benefit because of control rather than contribution under declared terms; or self-dealing that weakens public purpose.
The Solar Guild's founding steward has stated a personal non-enrichment commitment. Documented capital may be repaid at verified cost, and legitimate support, compensation, and expenses may be allowed under declared, independently governed safeguards; however, the founding steward may not create private wealth from Solar Guild accumulation or take appreciation, dividends, sale proceeds, or residual value from it. Future leaders may profit from contribution under declared terms, but may not convert authority into ownership or make unilateral awards to themselves. Capital repayment buys no governance power. This stated commitment is not presented as an independently enforced asset lock.
Enforcement cannot be achieved by a name or manifesto. A Garden seeking durable continuity would need binding rules for asset ownership, licenses, beneficiary and contributor rights, declared compensation, governance, residual reinvestment, sale or transfer, succession, correction, and dissolution. A proposed structure should fail review if control, transfer, or amendment can quietly convert institutional value into private capture. Future stewards must still be able to challenge, adapt, transfer, or responsibly end a mechanism. The form, legal effect, and evidence remain unresolved.
What would count as progress
Open question- A public Garden charter names beneficiaries, stewards, authority, contributor rights, an honest sustainability plan, and a public-purpose reinvestment plan.
- A completed Objective produces enough accepted value to justify a second voluntary cycle.
- Stewardship continues beyond the original team without hidden rescue or loss of accountability.
- Ownership, transfer, succession, and closure rules protect the declared public purpose in enforceable form.
- Evidence, corrections, conflicts, failures, and material changes remain visible.
- A Garden can rest, transfer, merge, or close without quietly abandoning contributors or beneficiaries.
